City Sight Seeing Milano

Today marked the beginning of our cultural visits around Milano. We started our day off by taking a bus tour to our first destination which was the "Castello Sforzesco". Once we reached the bus stop for the castle, we were met with the awe-inspiring glimpse of the huge intricate castle that was in front of us. I spent most of my time in the museums within the castle to complete the cultural assignment for the day. But it was wonderful to see all the different rooms and art that was on display. Two items that stick out in my mind was a painting done by Leonardo da Vinci and the “Rondanini Pieta” by Michelangelo. See pictures below! Both of these works of art evoked a sense of awe because of the artist’s that created them along with their beauty.

After visiting the castle we traveled further on the bus tour until we got to “Il Teatro Alla Moda”. The exhibit that we got to visit at the museum was a costume gallery for the opera. It had clothing worn my men and women who either attended various operas or were featured in the operas. Stay posted for a Fashion vs. Art posting!!

Overall, I had a very informational and educational day through our various visits on the bus tour. It helped me have a better understanding of Milano, its various parts, and immense history. However, I didn’t realize I had such a horrible sense of direction until today! Every time I thought we had to go one way it was really the complete opposite way that we needed to go. But hopefully over the course of the month I will become more familiar with the city.
